How do I start freelancing while having a day job? Should I quit my day job?

My best advice for this would be:

Instead of quitting your full-time job, start by working overtime during your weekends and evenings, that way you don't have to jeopardize your current situation.

And you get to test the waters before jumping in the unknown. Once you start getting some traction - early clients and revenue, it'll make the jump a lot less scary!
