How did you start your journey?

My goal was to avoid any big/expensive/long flight, so even though I wanted to travel towards Asia, I knew there was a chance I'd transit through Dubai. However, having never gone to Dubai, and knowing that a good friend of mine lives there, I thought it'd be the best place to start.

After that, for other destinations, I had a rough idea of the next countries - I wanted to make sure that I could go at a good time of year, and avoid bad weather like typhoon season, etc.
