As a freelancer, do you regret doing anything for a client/ job? If you could change it, what would you have done?

Especially when it's early in your freelancing career, it's really tempting to say yes to everyone and anyone.

This happened to me a few times: I ended up chasing potential customers, however, it didn't really pay off and it wasn't a good fit. I should've realize that earlier because that would've prevented me from having to chase overdue payments and working on a project that neither the customer nor myself were really excited about.

Generally speaking, I am the type of person who can do a great job if I am very excited and motivated, however, if I don't have the motivation, my job is going to be very average! And that's not good for anyone: myself or my customers.
