When it comes to blogging, is it better to use your own website or a blogging platform like Medium?

I would suggest to start blogging on your own blog and focusing 100% on building a strong and active e-mail list as fast as you can or using a platform like Steemit that rewards bloggers for contributing high-quality content. Every other way to blog will be incredibly difficult to monetize and to keep sustainable.
