What are some important skills that I should learn prior to becoming a digital nomad?

I think the most important skills every digital nomad needs to learn is communication and delivering on time.

A lot of people who start traveling as digital nomads get so distracted by all the wonderful things happening around them that they reply to e-mails once a week and completely miss their deadlines. That's a no-go if you want to do this long-term as your colleagues won't be able to trust you any more and will eventually stop working with you.

So remember - communicate well, deliver on time and you'll be fine! :)
