Is the application process for a remote working position the same as normal location-based job?

I found the hiring process to be quite a bit longer actually. I think I went through 6 different rounds but this may have changed since the time I was hired.

As the entire team is remote, they want to make sure that you are a right fit which involves a few rounds of different tasks as well as video interview. I came to understand that once I was hired and I got to learn that the entire team is so supportive and you have regular contact to your colleagues, even if you're remote.
