Approximately around how much would one person need per day to do sustainable long term travel?

That depends on what country and city you want to be in. You could live quite nice in Thailand for $1000 USD a month, but my goal is also to be able to live in New York City with the same quality of life. So in that case, I need at least $8000 - $10000 a month, working on this to get this consistently.
