As a digital nomad, have you ever been in a dangerous situation while traveling?

I've been lucky enough that nothing critical has happened. I'm also trying to be very aware of my surroundings when I travel to foreign places, especially the first few days.

Typically, the 48 hours that I arrive in a new place, I try to walk around the neighborhood and identify roads, shops, and get a feel for the area, without my headphones: that's a good way to understand your environment and to know what fits and what stands out.
