In our case, we use Slack to communicate internally and there are daily/weekly/monthly reports pulled through Mode. This gives an overview of a variety of things such as how many candidates have been invited, the overall workload etc.
We also have weekly meetings with just the travel agents in our company (which does travel planning), and another meeting which includes the developers so that we can get an update on product changes, bug fixes etc.
These are all recorded so that if you miss them, you can always check them later. We then have regular check ins with team leads and other member of the team on either a weekly/monthly or quarterly basis.
