As a digital nomad, what do you do about missing important family/friends occasions?

Whenever there are important occasions, I usually try to prearrange a physical gift or a memory to be send to that person.

Whether that's flowers for my mom on Mother's Day or a favorite bottle of rum for my best friends on their birthdays along with a note.
