As a digital marketer, do you prefer performance-based commissions or monthly retainer?

Retainer.

Honestly, I don't count my hours and I prefer doing a retainer where no matter how long it takes, I know that I'll get paid. It's easier for the client too, because there could be days when a task takes me 10 minutes, and some days when it takes me 4 hours.
