I think it is easier to start and run a business with partners. First of all, you have someone to turn to for an advice, someone to brainstorm your ideas with, because you're in this together. Also, partners/co-founders can bring a set of new skills to the table. For example, if you're strong with overall business operation but not really technical - a technical co-founder will fill in that missing skill.
